The role emphasizes cleanliness, proper handling of ingredients, FIFO/LIFO practices, labeling and dating, and maintaining stock levels. Typical duties include warewashing, receiving goods, and ensuring food safety standards are followed, with on-site work and hourly pay.

Qualificações

• Assist in daily food preparation and kitchen duties.
• Wash, peel, cut, chop ingredients and assist in food prep.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen areas and equipment.
• Follow FIFO/LIFO and food safety guidelines (HACCP, hygiene).
• Label, date and store ingredients properly to ensure freshness.
• Minimize waste and assist in stock control.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Chef and kitchen team with daily food preparation, cooking support, and other kitchen duties.
• Wash, peel, cut, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, meat, and other ingredients as instructed.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Wash and properly clean dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, and other kitchen equipment.
• Assist in receiving, checking, and properly storing food supplies and ingredients.
• Follow FIFO/LIFO, food safety, HACCP, hygiene, and proper food-handling procedures.
• Ensure ingredients are properly covered, labelled, dated, and stored at the correct temperature.
• Assist in maintaining adequate kitchen stock and report shortages, damaged items, or expired products to the Chef or Supervisor.
• Minimize food wastage and maintain proper portioning and handling of ingredients.
• Follow kitchen opening and closing procedures and perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Chef, Supervisor, or Restaurant Manager.
