Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven mechanical engineer to lead mechanical maintenance functions with high standards of Quality and Safety. This position is ideal for a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with proven expertise in turnaround / Shutdown execution, maintenance stakeholder engagement, and leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the execution of work assigned as per plan and notify scope change & scope variance to the immediate supervisor in order to meet the project schedule.
  • Maintain the quality of work as per defined project quality plan to mitigate the reworks.
  • Monitor progress of the work assigned on daily basis by utilizing systems’ generated reports in order to ensure the timely completion of the discipline work.
  • Understand WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), OBS (Organizational Breakdown Structure), Cost Centers and Standard Man-hours of the work area assigned. Relate Cost Centers with the BOQ items of payment to achieve revenue targets set for area.
  • Make sure that all required work permits are obtained in time and that the team understands and follows the conditions of the permit, in order to avoid any subsequent problems and conflicts.
  • Ensure that all factors related to work access like scaffolding, excavation, vessel entry etc. have been taken care of in advance, in order to execute the work according to the plan.
  • Analyze the work progress of the assigned area of control by using the supervisor- and cost center-wise man-hour efficiency reports and progress monitoring reports to ensure that supervisor follow the plan in executing the activities.
  • Makes efforts to keep efficiency well maintained and improve it by optimizing resource utilization, and eliminating re-work and idle man-hours.
  • Give prime importance to human and assets Safety & Maintain Quality and safety standards at his job area. & Keep good housekeeping.
  • Take measures for security of tool, plant and equipment and other assets being used by his teams.
  • Organize daily Toolbox Talk explaining his team target of the day and safety and technical requirement to execute the target job assignments.
  • Understands coordination requirements between various areas and disciplines and appreciates that construction resources are precious and must be shared.
  • Accountable to create a safe working environment, manage risks, reduce exposure to hazardous liability and ensure implementation of HSE policy.
  • Comply with all QA/QC standards (DIMS standards) as applicable to the company systems, policies, procedures, and documents in order to deliver the expected quality of work.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant fields.
  • Experience: 6–8 years of relevant experience in planning and executing turnarounds / Shutdowns within the Oil & Gas and petrochemical sector.
Required Skills
  • Proven track record in managing shutdowns, turnarounds, and retrofit projects.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate teams under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
