Job summary

Descon Oman is seeking a dynamic Lead Planning to head planning functions across our operations. This role suits a seasoned Mechanical Engineer with turnaround/shutdown planning, project execution, stakeholder engagement, and leadership.

You will support the planning manager, coordinate Level IV planning, guide pre-mobilization, manage project cost and scheduling, monitor progress, and drive timely completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant field.
• 8–10 years of planning and executing turnarounds / Shutdowns in Oil & Gas and petrochemical sector.
• Proven track record in managing shutdowns, turnarounds, retrofit projects.
• Strong project planning and execution capabilities.
• Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams under pressure.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning manager to achieve project and turnaround objectives and ensure resources are available.
• Update turnaround activities in Level IV plan with Discipline Incharge and Site Manager.
• Prepare achievable targets from execution staff for Level IV plan.
• Guide pre-mobilization activities, ensuring proper planning for smooth project commencement.
• Project cost and financial management, ensuring budget adherence and cost control.
• Monitor project scheduling, monitoring, reporting and execution, ensuring timely completion and necessary corrective actions.

Qualifications:
