Job summary

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is seeking an Assistant Engineering Manager to oversee daily operations of the Engineering Department and support senior leadership in maintaining hotel systems to Mandarin Oriental standards.

You will supervise technicians, manage preventive maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and ensure safety and high‑quality guest experiences across guest rooms and public areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge of hotel engineering systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire & life safety).
• Experience in hotel engineering, preferably luxury hospitality.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems and operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the Engineering Department.
• Ensure facilities and equipment meet luxury hotel standards.
• Monitor preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Supervise engineering staff and allocate work assignments.
• Coach and develop engineering team members.
• Promote safety and continuous improvement.
• Monitor maintenance logs, work orders and asset performance.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers while ensuring compliance.
