Job summary

ahlibank SAOG is seeking an experienced Unit Head Corporate & Companies Law to lead the Corporate & Companies Law Unit in Muscat. The role drives legal advisory, litigation management, corporate transactions, governance and regulatory compliance for the Bank.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, coach the team and provide strategic guidance to senior management, ensuring protection of the Bank's legal interests while aligning with laws and standards.

Qualifications

• Omani nationals only.
• University Degree in Law. A master's degree in law, MBA or relevant professional legal qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 9-12 years of relevant experience in corporate, commercial, banking or financial services law, including supervising legal work and advising business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead M&A due diligence and oversee review of corporate transactions documents.
• Provide strategic legal advice on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.
• Oversee all real estate transactions, leases and property documentation and compliance.
• Oversee drafting, review, negotiation and approvals of contracts and financing documentation.
• Manage litigation strategy, external counsel relationships and reporting of legal exposure.
• Ensure compliance with banking laws, corporate legislation and regulatory requirements.
