Job summary

Experience is seeking a senior legal and governance leader to advise the Board, board committees and the Group CEO on complex legal, governance and fiduciary matters within Oman. The role will own the group's legal structure and oversee M&A, joint ventures, and strategic investments while directing external counsel domestically and internationally.

The incumbent will set the group’s compliance framework under Omani and GCC laws, provide expert Arabic/English legal drafting, and lead high-value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Law; LLM preferred.
• Minimum 10 years' post-qualification experience in Oman, including substantial time at a holding group, major corporate or leading Oman/GCC law firm.
• Expert legal drafting in Arabic and English.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Board, board committees and the Group CEO on legal, governance and fiduciary matters.
• Lead the group governance framework and act as, or oversee, the Board Secretary.
• Own the group's legal structure: incorporations, restructurings, shareholder agreements and capital changes.
• Lead the legal side of M&A, joint ventures, strategic partnerships and investments.
• Negotiate high-value strategic agreements, financing, guarantees and major government tenders.
• Set the group compliance framework under Omani corporate, investment, competition, AML and data protection laws.
• Own strategy for high-value litigation and arbitration, directing external Omani and international counsel.
