Job summary

Thehseleader is seeking an EHS Senior Engineer to lead environmental, health and safety management on Power Transmission & Distribution construction projects in Oman. You will drive risk mitigation, ensure compliance with local and international standards, and promote a zero-harm safety culture.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.
• NEBOSH IGC mandatory.
• 8–12 years of EHS experience in construction, including 5+ years in Power Transmission & Distribution projects.
• Fluent in English; Arabic knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor project-specific EHS plans, procedures, and risk control measures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, client specs, and EHS management systems.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments for transmission lines, substations, and related construction activities.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
• Organize toolbox talks, safety campaigns, inductions, and awareness programs.
• Review permits, method statements, and JSA before execution.
• Track EHS performance indicators and prepare periodic reports for management and clients.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness drills and ensure resources are available.
• Promote environmental protection measures including waste management and resource conservation.
