Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Oman is recruiting a Site EHS Officer to lead safety and environmental programs on major railway projects. You will ensure regulatory compliance, conduct site inspections, and drive continuous improvement across EHS management systems.

The role requires a Diploma/Bachelor in Engineering, 3–5 years of experience in HSE, and certifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, and ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor. Fluency in English is essential; Oman/GCC driving license is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Civil, or related discipline.
• Omani nationality is required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Health, Safety & Environment, preferably in construction, infrastructure, installation, or railway projects.
• NEBOSH IGC certification, with Merit before 2022.
• IOSH Managing Safely certification.
• Lead Auditor certification in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• First Aid certification (Basic or Advanced).
• Valid Oman/GCC driving license is mandatory.
• Experience with Permit to Work (PTW) systems for installation activities.
• Strong incident investigation and root-cause analysis skills.
• Railway project experience is advantageous.
• Fluency in English; other regional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the key contact for Health, Safety, and Environmental matters at project sites, ensuring compliance with EHS principles and regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify EHS risks, and implement corrective measures.
• Support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems across the project.
• Monitor regulatory compliance and ensure effective on-site implementation.
• Prepare detailed EHS reports and track performance metrics.
• Maintain records of EHS performance, incidents, training, and audits.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Assess subcontractor EHS performance and escalate major non-compliances.
• Assist in obtaining necessary EHS permits and regulatory notifications.
• Review SWMS, risk assessments, and PTW documentation for compliance.
• Communicate EHS requirements clearly to workers and stakeholders.
• Conduct safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site inductions.
• Develop and maintain EHS training matrices and certification tracking.
• Lead emergency drills and contribute to continual improvement of response plans.
• Coordinate with customers, regulators, and partners on EHS matters.
