Job Description

We’re looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to join the team and focus on growing our own Grocery Store “tMart”, which is the region’s first cloud store concept offering 20‑minute delivery of groceries at hypermarket prices. The service has expanded rapidly across Kuwait, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman and Iraq.

Responsibilities

• Support the operations manager with full end‑to‑end operations (inventory management, pick‑pack process, property/asset management, operational standards, expense control, maintenance, deep‑dives and special projects).
• Lead the store operations team from store managers to pickers.
• Conduct a daily online call where KPIs are reviewed and new updates are shared.
• Conduct weekly store visits, shop floor audits and ensure all stores comply with legal requirements and company SOPs.
• Monitor supervisors to ensure accurate inventory management processes, policies and proper execution of inventory management (stock‑in and stock‑out).
• Responsible for shrink/expiry control and quality focus (inventory no damaged or poor fresh food quality; close to expiry).
• Track order fulfillment, KPI, staff availability based on operational demands at all times.
• Support colleagues and work with other teams such as maintenance, PRO, IT, logistics, SSC, marketing, commercial and demand planning as required.
• Problem‑solve or escalate property management issues with stakeholders.
• Be fully competent in Microsoft Office and other store staff tools.
• Expense control: support and advise on ways to reduce expenses without jeopardizing operational efficiency.
• Monitor and supervise productivity, work standards and development of stores through weekly or monthly performance reviews and initiatives.
• Monitor on‑ground issues and elevate major performance issues to department manager with proposed solutions.
• Manage stakeholders and provide solution‑oriented support.
• Support improving financial and operational performance of the operation.
• Execute action plans prepared by the department manager to address weak areas across stores.
• Lead new store initiatives roll‑outs, execution and follow‑up.
• Support training and development programs for staff and support, including training sessions for new system updates and special projects.
• Review and monitor proper implementation and learning of merchandising and space planning guidelines in stores.
• Monitor product range availability, report to and liaise with the commercial team.
• Support distribution and logistics for store transfers, consumables distribution, invoice collection.
