Job summary

Tanqeeb in Muscat, Oman is seeking a junior accountant to support the financial controller with day-to-day accounting and expense management. You will help maintain records, process invoices, and ensure proper recording and reporting across multiple currencies.

The role focuses on accuracy, timely financial information, and collaboration with auditors and department heads. A bachelor’s degree in accounting and 0–2 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent; 0-2 years in the relevant environment.
• Proficient in financial terms and basic accounting concepts.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records and ensure accuracy of financial data.
• Collect invoices from vendors and distribute for approval; record in the system.
• Record project vouchers in the system, accounting for multiple currencies.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and process checks and bank transfers.
• Assist in preparing annual accounts and coordinate with auditors.
• Provide financial information to the Manager and other department heads as required.
• Familiarize with Oman Commercial Companies Law and related statutes.
• Collaborate with other departments on costing issues and reporting.

JOB PURPOSE To assist the financial controller in administering the day-to-day operational transactions of the company s accounts and various expenses

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance of accounting records
• Collection of invoices from vendors, Distribution to various dept. for approval, checking the accuracy and recording it in the system
• Record project vouchers in the system after checking various currencies
• Prepare Bank reconciliation
• Processing checks and bank transfers
• Assist in preparing annual accounts
• Coordinate with auditors to ensure compliance
• Production of financial information as requested by Manager
• Familiarize with Commercial companies Law and other related laws of Oman
• Dealing with other departmental heads for costing issues and providing financial information as required
• Performing any other applicable tasks and duties, within the realm of knowledge, skills and abilities as may be delegated or assigned by the supervisor
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed
