Esbaar is seeking an Assistant Finance Manager in Muscat, Oman, who will manage day-to-day accounting tasks and assist the CFO. Ideal candidates will have an ACCA qualification and at least three years of experience in finance or accounting.

The role involves managing day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. It includes preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements for CFO review, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal accounting policies, maintaining general ledger integrity along with supporting schedules, performing bank reconciliations, monitoring cash positions, and supporting the monthly closing process in line with reporting timelines.
The position requires monitoring receivables, payables, and overall cash flow cycles while supporting the implementation of financial controls and procedures. It includes tracking budget versus actual performance, assisting in variance analysis, and ensuring proper documentation and audit trails across all financial transactions.
The role supports compliance with applicable regulations including Oman Commercial Companies Law for SAOC entities and assists in maintaining statutory records and regulatory filings. It involves monitoring adherence to internal policies and approval frameworks as well as tracking banking covenants and financing obligations.
The Assistant Finance Manager acts as a key coordinator for both external and internal audits, preparing audit schedules and required documentation. The role includes following up on audit observations to ensure timely closure and supporting the CFO in audit committee matters and governance reporting.
The role works directly with the CFO on financial analysis, reporting and strategic initiatives while supporting the preparation of Board-level financial summaries and presentations. It also involves actively covering Finance Manager responsibilities in their absence or as required, taking ownership of assigned finance areas and progressively handling the full scope of Finance Manager responsibilities.
The candidate must be an Omani National (mandatory) and hold an ACCA qualification. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting is required, with prior experience in an audit firm or corporate finance function considered an advantage.
