Summary
Responsible for inspecting, calibrating, testing, and repairing medical electronic equipment using various tools and computer applications. Does this position require Patient Care? No.
Essential Functions
- Perform scheduled maintenance and performance assurance inspections on specialized electronic equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
- Test and calibrate components using manuals, troubleshooting techniques, and code requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
- Maintain complete, timely, and accurate documentation.
- Repair and replace complex biomedical electronic equipment and systems.
- Install and adjust various electronic biomedical and research equipment.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions accurately and precisely.
- Serve as the senior technologist to provide guidance and mentorship to other BMETs.
Education
Associate's Degree in Biomedical Engineering required.

Licenses and Credentials
Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License].
Experience
Biomedical Engineering Technology experience of 5-7 years required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to interpret technical data such as electronic circuit diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Ability to solve technical and performance problems using various sources of information.
- Working knowledge of technical requirements, codes, and standards in the field.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide peers.
- High level of technical expertise in biomedical and specialty electronic equipment for complex issue analysis and problem-solving.
Travel to MGB sites (~30%).
Experience with respiratory equipment preferred.
