Job summary

Mitre10 MEGA Kapiti on the Kapiti Coast is seeking a hands-on Zone Manager to lead a multi-department team, drive selling standards, and mentor staff. You will be on the floor with your team, managing merchandising and product knowledge to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

You will develop people, support change such as store upgrades, and collaborate with nearby Zone Managers to ensure smooth operations. Weekend work and peak-season coverage are expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a team in a fast-paced, big box retail environment.
• Strong retail sales background with passion for merchandising and product knowledge.
• Leader focused on developing people, not just managing product.
• Process-driven with strong attention to detail.
• Positive, engaging, and able to bring a team together.

• Lead and develop a team within your assigned zone, covering 2–4 departments.
• Drive selling standards, merchandising, and product knowledge across your zone.
• Be hands-on: help customers, work the floor, stock and merchandize.
• Train and support your team to build strong product knowledge and selling technique.
• Support your team through change, including a new store build and seasonal focuses.
• Collaborate with other Zone Managers and Retail Sales Managers to keep the store running smoothly.
