Job summary

Presbyterian Support Northern is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker/Social Worker to deliver the Check and Connect Programme in Auckland. You will design strategies to boost school engagement, support school success and completion, and empower students from selected Auckland secondary schools to re-engage with their education.

You will work within a busy multidisciplinary team, drawing on youth development principles, cultural awareness, and strength-based practice.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience working with youth
• High level of understanding around development needs of young people
• Outstanding communication and people skills
• Awareness of the cultural needs of the community
• Experience with strength-based practice principles
• The ability to thrive in a busy multidisciplinary team
• A current NZ driver''s license and reliable transport

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Check and Connect Programme.
• Design and implement strategies addressing school engagement, school success, and school completion.
• Work with students from selected Auckland secondary schools to re-engage with school.
• Aim to improve academic outcomes for participants.

We'd love to hear from you if you have a Youth Work Qualification or Social Work degree eligible for registration with SWRB. In addition you will have:
