Job summary

Presbyterian Support Northern is seeking an Enliven Support Worker to assist clients at home with personal cares, meal preparation and daily activities. You will work to the care plan, support independence and participate in community activities.

Flexible hours across week and weekends are available. A NZ resident with a driver’s licence and strong English communication skills is required to join our dedicated team delivering compassionate health and social services.

Qualifications

  • New Zealand resident, citizen or eligible work visa
  • Full NZ driver’s licence or Restricted licence with a reliable vehicle
  • Flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Clear English literacy and verbal communication
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to professional standards and client wellbeing

Responsibilities

  • Visit clients in their homes to provide personal cares (showering, dressing) and medication prompts per care plans
  • Assist with meal preparation, home tasks and community activities as required
  • Adhere to care plans, record updates and communicate with the team
  • Support elderly, disability or recovery clients to maintain independence and safety

Te Kowhiringa I The Opportunity

As an Enliven Support Worker, you will visit clients (elderly, disabled, individuals in recovery) in their homes to help them with a range of personal cares (showering, dressing), issuing medication, meal preparation, home help, and assistance with community activities. The care and support required will depend on the specific needs of the client. You will keep up to date with and deliver support in line with the agreed care plan.

Various hours are available across the week and weekends.

Requirements are below:
  • A New Zealand resident, citizen or have an eligible work visa
  • Either a full New Zealand driver's licence or Restricted licence along with a reliable vehicle that you are prepared to drive to and between clients (We can not accept International drivers licences)
  • Can accommodate flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Clear English language skills - able to read English instructions and plans and speak clearly in English to clients and colleagues
  • Strong customer service skills - are good at interacting with a wide range of people and enjoy helping people
  • High-quality standards and ability to adhere to professional standards, policies and practices
  • Compassion for the elderly, disabled and those in recovery
  • Confident to visit a range of clients in their homes and provide them with a range of care and support
