Job summary

Based in central Auckland (Mt Roskill), Presbyterian Support Northern (PSN) is seeking an experienced Programme Facilitator to deliver group and individual programmes, including KIDshine. You will work with kids in the refuge/safehouse and support children and young people affected by family violence.

Shine offers practical, innovative services to thousands of women, children and whānau each year, delivered through frontline services and specialist programmes.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or Counselling, registration preferred.
  • At least 3 years' experience facilitating family violence programmes.
  • Sound knowledge of family violence dynamics and impacts on whānau.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with rapport-building and inclusive learning.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building across communities.
  • Experience collaborating with external organisations.
  • Understanding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application.
  • Commitment to strengths-based, culturally responsive and trauma-informed work.

Based in central Auckland (Mt Roskill), we are looking for an experienced and engaging Programme Facilitator to deliver group and individual programmes, including KIDshine. You will be working with kids in the refuge /safehouse and supporting children and young people affected by family violence.

Shine provides a range of effective, practical and innovative services that support thousands of women, children and whānau affected by family violence each year. We work both directly and indirectly through our frontline services, specialist programmes and professional training.

As a Programme Facilitator, you will play an important role in creating safe, engaging and supportive learning environments where participants can build knowledge, skills and confidence.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in Social Work, Counselling, and be registered or working towards professional registration where applicable.
  • At least 3 years' experience facilitating and delivering family violence programmes within a social service setting.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of family violence, including its dynamics and impacts on children, women, men and whānau.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to engage participants, build rapport and create safe and inclusive environments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to network effectively and represent Shine within the community.
  • Experience developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with external organisations and community groups.
  • A confident understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application within a social service environment.
  • A commitment to working in a strengths-based, culturally responsive and trauma-informed way.
