Job summary

Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children is seeking Residential Night Attendants to care for and support young people in our care during the night. You will help them stay safe and make positive choices in a secure overnight setting.

Shifts run from 10:00pm to 6:30am, with rosters covering weekdays, weekends and public holidays, and a 30% penal rate applies for awake night work. The role requires a full, clean driver’s license, NZ citizenship or residency, and a compassionate, resilient approach.

Qualifications

• Full, clean driver’s license required.
• Meet safety checking and vetting requirements.
• New Zealand citizenship or residency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and support to young people overnight.
• Encourage and motivate them to make positive choices.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment during night shifts.
