Job summary

Wise Group in Tauranga is seeking a permanent part-time Youth Worker to support taiohi aged 12–18 and help them build life skills, resilience, and strong connections with their whānau and communities.

The role runs 32 hours per week (Sunday–Wednesday, 7:00am–3:30pm). Ideal candidates hold a NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 4 or are pursuing it, have youth experience, trauma-informed practice, de-escalation skills, a NZ driver’s licence, and first aid certification.

Qualifications

• Hold a NZ Certificate in Health & Wellbeing Level 4 or recognised equivalent, or be studying towards one.
• Experience working with young people; understanding trauma-informed care.
• De-escalation skills and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Walk alongside taiohi and support their day-to-day needs.
• Empower taiohi to build confidence, resilience and goals.
• Support connections with whānau, friends and communities.
