Waiheke Primary School on Waiheke Island seeks a Certificated teacher to join our vibrant island learning community in the intermediate team. The role covers Years 1–8 across core subjects and te reo Māori, with emphasis on relationships and belonging.

We value Whanaungatanga, Rangatiratanga and Kaitiakitanga, and offer a supportive staff, engaged whānau, and a collaborative environment for professional growth within our kura.

Qualifications

• Deliver engaging teaching across primary and intermediate (Years 1–8).
• Build authentic relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues.
• Demonstrate culturally responsive practice and Te Reo Māori integration.

Responsabilités

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in English, Health and physical education, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, The arts, and Te reo Māori.
• Create inclusive classrooms where every child feels safe, valued and capable.
• Collaborate with staff to support learner growth and well-being.
• Be reflective and committed to ongoing professional growth within Waiheke’s island learning community.

Our relationships with iwi and whānau are central to who we are. We have a long-standing partnership with Piritahi Marae and are committed to strengthening our relationship with Ngāti Paoa as we continue to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and embed Te Ao Māori, Te Reo Māori, and mātauranga Māori throughout our school. We are looking for someone to continue this work and uplift the mana of te ao māori in our kura.
