Job summary

TDX is a true New Zealand owned and operated company with a strong reputation in construction equipment sales and service. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll lead the workshop team, coordinate repairs and servicing, and ensure work is done safely and to a high standard.

This role is ideal for stepping back from hands-on work while remaining engaged in technical problem-solving, mentoring others, and developing leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Heavy Diesel trade qualification and strong mechanical experience.
• Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills.
• Sound business acumen, with the ability to manage workflow, productivity, and workshop performance.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work under pressure and keep the workshop running smoothly.
• A proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a team.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting a team of workshop technicians
• Managing workshop workflow and job scheduling
• Ensuring quality service and repair work is completed to a high standard
• Providing technical support and mentoring to technicians
• Liaising with customers regarding servicing and repair requirements
• Working closely with the Service Coordinator to provide job updates
• Reviewing and preparing jobs for invoicing
• Monitoring warranty reports and ensuring manufacturer timeframes are met
• Upholding health and safety policies and procedures across the workshop
