Job summary

6am Recruitment is seeking a capable Diesel Workshop Lead in Northland. You will manage a team of four mechanics, coordinate preventative maintenance for 90 units, and handle breakdown responses while contributing to a commercial workshop environment.

The role requires strong leadership, budgeting skills, and a hands-on approach to servicing heavy machinery and vehicles, with a focus on health and safety.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in Heavy Automotive Trade.
• Experience leading a team of more than 3 trade qualified staff.
• Trade cert qualified as well as Class 1-4 License with WTR endorsement.
• Strong budgeting understanding and cost control processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4 Diesel Mechanics and run the workshop daily.
• Organise preventative maintenance on 90 units and respond to breakdowns.
• Hands-on role servicing heavy machinery, trucks and light vehicles when needed.
• Forecast maintenance and develop an expenditure budget for your section.
