Job summary

Truck Stops (NZ) Ltd in Marlborough, Blenheim, is seeking a Senior Diesel Technician to lead a workshop team. Reporting to the Service Manager, you will supervise and coordinate the day-to-day workflow of technicians and apprentices, ensuring high standards and minimal downtime while mentoring the team.

This 80% hands-on role requires hands-on experience with heavy‑duty trucks, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to support admin tasks for workshop operations.

Qualifications

• Must have previous senior workshop experience mentoring others.
• Hands-on experience with heavy-duty trucks and understanding of WIPs.
• Strong commitment to safety and proactive mindset.
• NZQA certificates in Heavy Road Transport or Heavy Plant & Equipment Reliability.
• Eligible to work in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day workflow of technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain high standards and minimise downtime in the workshop.
• Lead hands-on work with the team (80% on-the-tools) and provide mentoring.
• Assist Service/Branch managers with admin tasks to keep the workshop humming.
