Job summary

NZ Creameries in Auckland is seeking a hands‑on Warehouse Assistant Manager to support a busy East Tamaki facility. You will coordinate daily warehouse activity, ensure stock accuracy and product integrity, and provide leadership to the warehouse team to improve safety, quality and efficiency.

The role involves manual handling in a cold/freezer environment, with potential overtime and weekend work during peak periods, and requires practical problem solving and strong teamwork to keep production

Qualifications

• Experience in warehousing, stores or distribution, ideally within food manufacturing or another regulated environment.
• A current forklift licence, or the ability to obtain and maintain one if required.
• A sound understanding of receipting, scanning, stock movement, dispatch, traceability and inventory accuracy.
• A practical, organised approach and a strong focus on safety, quality, teamwork and problem solving.
• Experience with cycle counts, rack location counts, pallet occupancy or inventory‑control processes.

• Coordinate receipting, scanning, labelling, storage, movement and put‑away.
• Pick, check, load and supply materials and ingredients to production.
• Prepare domestic and export orders for dispatch, including documentation and product handling.
• Maintain stock accuracy through system updates, stock checks, location control and discrepancy follow‑up.
• Maintain high standards across health and safety, hygiene, housekeeping, cold‑store control and product integrity.
• Support, coach and direct warehouse team members, escalating issues when needed.

About The Role

You will coordinate daily warehouse activity, support stock accuracy and product integrity, and ensure materials are available to production when needed. You will also provide direction to warehouse team members and elevate safety, quality, transport or compliance issues as required.

You will work in a warehouse and cold‑store/freezer environment, with some manual handling, forklift operation, overtime, weekend work or peak‑period support as needed.
