Job summary

YMCA Wellington & District is seeking an Accommodation and Welfare Officer for waking nights to keep our supported accommodation safe, secure and welcoming. You will support residents, conduct welfare checks, monitor CCTV, and respond calmly to incidents, emergencies and signpost to appropriate staff.

You will carry out cleaning, basic maintenance and record-keeping, working both independently and with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Strong problem solving and crisis management skills.
• Customer care focus with excellent interpersonal abilities.
• Understanding of confidentiality and GDPR.
• Basic MS Office literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Awareness of security and safety issues in housing schemes.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe environment across sites at night.
• Conduct lone and paired shifts.
• Record, report, and rectify issues to protect buildings.
• Perform regular site patrols and health checks.
• Respond to emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
