Job summary

Pathways Health Ltd. in Nelson is seeking a calm, caring Support Worker for awake night shifts (Sun & Mon, 11:00pm–7:30am) at our Halifax Respite home. This permanent part-time role offers consistent hours and a meaningful night-time care setting.

You will provide recovery-focused support, monitor wellbeing, complete documentation, and work with colleagues to maintain a safe, welcoming environment. Experience in mental health is essential.

Qualifications

NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4 or recognised equivalent.
Experience supporting people with mental health challenges.
Current full New Zealand driver licence.
Current first aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
Right to work in New Zealand; AEWV sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, recovery-focused and culturally safe support.
Monitor wellbeing, offer practical assistance and respond to needs.
Complete documentation, handovers and administrative tasks.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistent care.
Maintain a safe, calm home environment overnight.
