Job summary

Oceania Group seeks a full-time Village Coordinator for The Bellevue in Christchurch. You will be the go-to person for residents, supporting the Village Manager and coordinating events in a dynamic aged-care setting.

You will engage residents daily, lead activities and lifestyle programs, and help residents stay connected through technology. This diverse role offers growth within New Zealand’s leading retirement living provider.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role with customer service focus.
  • Excellent organization and administration abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with residents and stakeholders.
  • Empathy, respect and patience when working with elderly residents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Full working rights in New Zealand.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for residents, delivering exceptional service.
  • Coordinate tasks with the Village Manager to ensure successful execution.
  • Engage with residents daily, offering assistance and wellbeing support.
  • Keep knowledge of village products, services, policies and emergency procedures up to date.
  • Lead the development and delivery of personalised activities and lifestyle programs.
  • Promote resident use of technology (resident app, virtual events) with workshops.
  • Foster community by organising group excursions and gathering resident input.

The Role:

We are currently seeking a full-time Village Coordinator to join our dynamic team at The Bellevue in Christchurch. As the go-to person for our residents you will play a vital role in supporting the Village Manager and coordinating various events. This position offers a diverse and exciting work environment, where no two days are the same. Your kind, caring, and helpful nature will bring smiles to our residents' faces on a daily basis.

What you’ll be doing:

Act as the primary point of contact for residents providing exceptional customer service and promptly addressing their needs.

Collaborate with the Village Manager to coordinate tasks effectively and ensure their successful execution.

Engage with residents daily, offering assistance and ensuring their well-being.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of village products, services, policies, and emergency procedures, effectively communicating this information to residents and stakeholders.

Lead the development and delivery of a personalized activities and lifestyle program, fostering resident engagement and enjoyment.

Promote resident participation in the use of technology, such as the resident app and virtual events, through support and workshops.

Foster a sense of community by organizing group excursions, facilitating focus groups for resident input, and building positive relationships with residents, external providers, and community groups.

What you’ll bring:

Previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Excellent abilities in organization and administration, ensuring efficient management of tasks and responsibilities.

Strong communication skills to establish prompt, courteous, and professional rapport with residents and stakeholders.

Commitment to treating all residents with utmost respect, dignity, and empathy.

Proficiency in effective problem‑solving techniques and the capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Demonstrated hands‑on, proactive mindset, approaching tasks with enthusiasm and a can‑do attitude.

Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with the Microsoft suite.

Strong empathy and patience when dealing with elderly residents, coupled with the ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
