Job summary

Ryman Healthcare in Christchurch seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join the clinical leadership team as Unit Coordinator for the Serviced Apartment Unit at Diana Isaac Retirement Village. This full-time role runs Tuesday to Saturday 08:00-16:30 with a shared on-call component.

You will lead, coach and support your team, ensure care is continuously assessed and planned, and engage with families and health professionals to maintain high standards of care for residents.

Qualifications

  • Current APC (annual practising certificate) required.
  • InterRAI training or willingness to gain competency.
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team to ensure quality care.
  • Foster a safe, positive work culture and effective teamwork.
  • Lead ongoing assessment and care planning for residents in the unit.
  • Engage with residents' families and health professionals to build relationships
  • Support nursing team in conducting interRAI assessments.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and roster flexibility as needed to cover events or staffing.

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator for the Serviced Apartment Unit atDiana Isaac Retirement Village in Christchurch. This is a Full Time role workingTuesday - Saturday 0800-1630with a shared on-call component.

As the Serviced Apartment Unit Coordinator, you will use your nursing and people skills to:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always "good enough for mum and dad"
  • Foster the Ryman culture which promotes a safe and enjoyable work experience for your team
  • Ensure all care is continuously assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident within the XX Unit
  • Actively engage with resident's families/whānau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards, creating lasting relationships
  • Perform and support your nursing team to conduct interRAI assessments
  • Intermittently provide additional time outside rostered hours to attend events, support team members or residents and families as needed
  • Dedicate quality time with your team, including flexibility of rostered hours on different shifts to connect with all team members within the unit
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team that promotes respect and trust
  • Participate as a positive and trusting member of a team that works together as one
  • Provide support to your Clinical Manager and Village Manager
About You
