Job summary

Ryman Healthcare – Riccarton, South Island is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator at Kevin Hickman Retirement Village in Riccarton Park, Christchurch. The role includes Sunday to Thursday 0800–1630 with a shared on-call component, across Hospital, Resthome/Dual units.

As Unit Coordinator you will lead and coach your team, ensure care is planned, implemented and evaluated, and engage with families, Allied Health Professionals and District

Qualifications

  • Must hold an APC (annual practising certificate).
  • InterRAI training or willingness to gain competency.
  • Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader.
  • Ability to lead, share knowledge and motivate your team.
  • Kindness, compassion and drive to deliver exceptional care to residents.
  • Flexibility to share on-call responsibilities with other Unit Coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching and support to the nursing team.
  • Foster a safe and enjoyable work environment for staff.
  • Ensure care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated for each resident.
  • Engage with residents' families/whānau, visitors and healthcare professionals.
  • Lead interRAI assessments and associated documentation.
  • Support the Clinical Manager and Village Manager as needed.
  • Communicate effectively to promote respect and trust within the team.

As a Unit Coordinator, you will use your nursing and people skills to:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always"good enough for mum and dad"
  • Foster the Ryman culture which promotes a safe and enjoyable work experience for your team
  • Ensure all care is continuously assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident.
  • Actively engage with resident's families/whānau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards, creating lasting relationships
  • Perform and support your nursing team to conduct interRAI assessments
  • Intermittently provide additional time outside rostered hours to attend events, support team members or residents and families as needed
  • Dedicate quality time with your team, including flexibility of rostered hours on different shifts to connect with all team members within the unit
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team that promotes respect and trust
  • Provide support to your Clinical Manager and Village Manager
About You
