Job summary

Ryman Healthcare in Christchurch is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join the clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator at Kevin Hickman Retirement Village.

The role involves leading a team, coordinating care across Hospital and Resthome/Dual units, and contributing to a high standard of resident wellbeing. Expect on-call responsibilities and roster flexibility to meet resident needs.

  • InterRAI training or willingness to gain competency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always good enough for mum and dad.
  • Foster a safe and enjoyable work environment for the team.
  • Ensure care is assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated for each resident.
  • Engage with families/whānau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards.
  • Support and conduct interRAI assessments with the nursing team.
  • Be available for on-call coverage as rostered.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator atKevin HickmanRetirement Village located inRiccarton Park, Christchurch.The role includes working Sunday to Thursday 0800 - 1630 with a shared on-call component, working across Hospital, Resthome/Dual units.

As a Unit Coordinator, you will use your nursing and people skills to:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always"good enough for mum and dad"
  • Foster the Ryman culture which promotes a safe and enjoyable work experience for your team
  • Ensure all care is continuously assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident.
  • Actively engage with resident's families/whānau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards, creating lasting relationships
  • Perform and support your nursing team to conduct interRAI assessments
  • Intermittently provide additional time outside rostered hours to attend events, support team members or residents and families as needed
  • Dedicate quality time with your team, including flexibility of rostered hours on different shifts to connect with all team members within the unit
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team that promotes respect and trust
  • Provide support to your Clinical Manager and Village Manager
About You
