Job summary

Ryman Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Rest Home Unit Coordinator at Williams Sanders Retirement Village in Devonport, Auckland. The role covers Tuesday to Saturday 07:30–16:30 with a shared on-call component, offering a rewarding mix of leadership and hands-on care.

You will lead and coach your nursing team, foster a safe, supportive culture, actively engage with residents and families, and ensure care plans are developed,

Qualifications

• APC registration required.
• InterRAI training or willingness to gain competency.
• Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team to ensure high-quality care.
• Foster a safe, enjoyable work environment aligned with Ryman culture.
• Ensure care plans are continually assessed, planned, implemented and evaluated.
• Engage with residents' families/whānau and Allied Health Professionals.
• Perform and support interRAI assessments as needed.
• Attend events or support the team beyond rostered hours when required.
• Dedicate time with your team and communicate effectively with respect and trust.
• Collaborate with Clinical Manager and Village Manager as a trusted team member.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our clinical leadership team as a Unit Coordinator for the Rest Home -Dual Unit at Williams Sanders Retirement Village located in Devonport, Auckland. The role includes working Tuesday to Saturday 0730 - 1630 with a shared on-call component.

As theResthome Unit Coordinator, you will use your nursing and people skills to:

• Provide leadership, coaching, and support to your team, ensuring care is always \"good enough for mum and dad\"


• Foster the Ryman culture which promotes a safe and enjoyable work experience for your team


• Ensure all care is continuously assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated to meet the needs of each resident within the Resthome Unit


• Actively engage with resident's families/whānau, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards, creating lasting relationships


• Perform and support your nursing team to conduct interRAI assessments


• Intermittently provide additional time outside rostered hours to attend events, support team members or residents and families as needed


• Dedicate quality time with your team, including flexibility of rostered hours on different shifts to connect with all team members within the unit


• Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team that promotes respect and trust


• Participate as a positive and trusting member of a team that works together as one


• Provide support to your Clinical Manager and Village Manager

About You

• A current APC (annual practising certificate)
