Job summary

Ryman Healthcare is seeking a skilled RN to provide clinical leadership at the Hilda Ross Retirement Village in Hamilton. You will oversee nursing, care and support teams, ensuring safe, person-centred care aligned with regulatory standards.

The role requires coaching and developing a large multidisciplinary team, managing clinical risk, and driving quality improvements. A full-time on-call element is included to support continuous operation.

Qualifications

  • Be a Registered Nurse with a current APC.
  • InterRAI trained.
  • Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage clinical risk and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strong clinical leadership and oversight to nursing, care, and auxiliary teams across the village.
  • Lead the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care in line with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Build, develop and coach a high-performing team that is engaged, capable, and committed to delivering exceptional care.
  • Ensure clinical policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently applied and maintained.
  • Drive continuous improvement through audit outcomes, clinical indicators, and Quality Improvement Plans.
  • Identify and manage clinical risks, ensuring timely escalation, response, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with residents and their families, ensuring a positive and responsive care experience.
  • Support the Village Manager and contribute to the effective day-to-day operation of the village.

Based at our beautiful Hilda Ross Retirement Village in Hamiltonyou will use all your nursing and leadership skills to:



  • Provide strong clinical leadership and oversight to nursing, care, and auxiliary teams across the village

  • Build, develop and coach a high-performing team that is engaged, capable, and committed to delivering exceptional care

  • Ensure clinical policies, procedures, and quality standards are consistently applied and maintained

  • Drive continuous improvement through audit outcomes, clinical indicators, and Quality Improvement Plans

This is a Full-Time position with flexibility outside of these hours, as part of the role will require your ability to work on call.


About You

To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will:



  • Be a Registered Nurse with a current APC, with proven experience in a clinical leadership role (aged care experience preferred)

  • interRAI trained

  • Be an experienced clinical leader with the ability to lead, coach, and develop large, multidisciplinary teams

  • Demonstrate strong clinical judgement and the ability to deliver safe, consistent outcomes in complex environments

  • Have sound experience in clinical risk management, audit processes, and maintaining compliance with care standards

  • Bring a strong focus on continuous improvement, with experience using data or clinical indicators to drive better outcomes

  • Build and sustain positive relationships with residents, families, and teams, managing with empathy and professionalism

  • Demonstrate sound organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands effectively

  • Have a practical understanding of resource management, including staffing, consumables, and service delivery needs

  • Be a confident and clear communicator who works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
