Job summary

Ryman Healthcare in Hamilton East is seeking a casual caregiver for our Special Care Unit to support residents requiring dementia care. You will engage residents with meaningful activities, follow personalized care plans, and build lasting relationships with residents and families.

Responsibilities

• Oversee residents and lead engaging activities.
• Follow individual care plans and ensure care that would be good for your own family; engage with residents and families.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Hilda Ross Retirement Village in Hamilton East as a Casual Caregiver in our Special Care Unit. This position will be working with our lovely residents who need an experienced and reliable person with a passion for dementia care.

In this role you will:

• Oversee residents providing activities to engage them
• Follow our resident's individual care plans, providing care that would be good enough for your own mum, dad, nana or poppa
  Engage with our residents and developing lasting relationships with themand their families
• Use the latest technology - including our own purpose-built care app myRyman
• Take time to learn about each and every resident, their background, what's makes them happy to help them enjoy life to the fullest

About You

To thrive in our supportive and caring environment you will have:

• Minimum of New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Level 4)
• Strong empathy
• Kindness in your DNA
• A reliable, friendly and professional style
• Have obtained or are willing to complete the Relevant unit standards (or an equivalent qualification as approved by Ryman), within 18 months of your employment commencement date
