Job summary

Franklin Smith is seeking multiple experienced sheet metal workers with a good attitude and references. You will mark out, shape, form and join sheet metal and other materials on commercial or civil projects across New Zealand.

The role is permanent with a minimum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with extra shifts on weekends. You may be required to travel to different regions; relocation costs are covered by Franklin Smith.

Qualifications

• NZ citizen or resident with at least 3 years of full-time sheetmetal experience on commercial or civil projects.

Responsibilities

• Mark out, shape, form and join sheetmetal and other materials.
• Create construction or installation diagrams.
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
• Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly.
• Mark reference points on construction materials.
• Assemble products or production equipment.
• Weld metal components.
• Plan layout of construction, installation, or repairs.
• Smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools.
• Fabricate parts or components.
• Select construction materials.
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with policies and legislation.
• Relocation may be required; Franklin Smith will cover transportation and accommodation.

About you:

Successful candidates must be a NZ citizen or resident and have at least 3 years full-time sheetmetal relevant work experience on commercial or civil projects.

Duties include:

• create construction or installation diagrams
• review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements

• Other duties as reasonably required within the capability of the employee’s role may also be required from time to time.

The ideal candidate will also have:

• Been able to pass police check and drug test.

About the role:

• Minimum 30 hours per week.
• Hourly wage ranging from $28.00 - $35.00.
• Permanent role – Monday to Friday, with extra shifts available on weekends.
• As part of your employment, you may be required to travel to a different region for a different project, including, Auckland, Manawatū-Whanganui, Marlborough, Waikato, Wellington, Otago, Nelson, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Northland, West Coast, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Southland.
• You will be given reasonable notice if you are required to relocate to another region. Franklin Smith will cover transportation and accommodation expenses related to the relocation.
