Job summary

Franklin Smith is seeking multiple experienced sheet metal workers for permanent positions across New Zealand. You will mark out, shape, form and join sheet metal and related materials on commercial or civil projects.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years full-time sheet metal experience, be able to pass police checks and drug tests, and hold NZ citizenship or residency. The role offers a minimum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday with extra weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• NZ citizen or resident
• At least 3 years full-time sheetmetaland related work experience on commercial or civil projects
• Ability to read and interpret construction diagrams and blueprints

Responsibilities

• Create construction or installation diagrams
• Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements
• Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly
• Mark reference points on construction materials
• Assemble products or production equipment
• Weld metal components
• Plan layout of construction, installation, or repairs
• Smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools
• Fabricate parts or components
• Select construction materials
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with Franklin Smith policies and relevant legislation
• Other duties as reasonably required within the capability of the employee’s role may also be required from time to time

About the role:

• Minimum 30 hours per week.
• Hourly wage ranging from $28.00 - $35.00.
• Permanent role – Monday to Friday, with extra shifts available on weekends.
• As part of your employment, you may be required to travel to a different region for a different project, including, Auckland, Manawatū-Whanganui, Marlborough, Waikato, Wellington, Otago, Nelson, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Northland, West Coast, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Southland.
• You will be given reasonable notice if you are required to relocate to another region. Franklin Smith will cover transportation and accommodation expenses related to the relocation.
