Excel Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is looking for a Transport Refrigeration Technician to join our New Plymouth team.

This role could suit an experienced transport refrigeration technician or someone with a background in refrigeration, diesel mechanics or auto electrical work who is keen to develop their skills in transport refrigeration. It's an opportunity to broaden your skillset and build your career with an established business.

The Role

You’ll work across workshop and field service environments with a key focus on keeping customers’ transport refrigeration units operating reliably.

Core responsibilities will include:

• Servicing and maintaining transport refrigeration units
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs
• Completing preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns
• Delivering quality work and excellent customer service
• Completing accurate service reports and documentation
• Supporting after-hours and urgent breakdown responses when required
• Maintaining high health, safety and environmental standards

About You

We’re looking for a practical, motivated person with strong fault-finding skills and a willingness to learn and develop within the transport refrigeration industry.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Experience in transport refrigeration, refrigeration, diesel mechanics or auto electrical work
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
• A willingness to learn and develop your transport refrigeration expertise
• A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A full NZ driver licence
• New Zealand residency or valid New Zealand working rights
