Job summary

Booth’s Logistics in Hamilton is seeking a competent Transport Planner to join our team. You will use your knowledge of the transport and logistics industry to support our Transport team in the efficient management of inbound and outbound freight.

This fulltime role features 80 hours per fortnight, with usual hours 9:30am–6:30pm, and provides opportunities to grow within a national logistics company. The successful candidate will demonstrate accuracy, strong numeracy, and excellent

Qualifications

  • Experience in transport/logistics roles.
  • Proficient with ICOS and/or TMS systems.
  • Strong numeracy and written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Daily planning and networking with drivers, management, staff and customers.
  • Complete and follow company processes.
  • Produce outturns for inbound units.
  • Create manifests for outbound units and email to receiving branches.
  • Dispatch delay notifications to receiving branches and CS.

The Role

We currently on the lookoutfor a highly competent Transport Planner with proven skills and experience tojoin the team in our Hamilton Branch.

80 hours per Fortnight

Usual days and hours 9.30am-6.30pm - Can discuss in more detail during the interview process

Using your extensiveknowledge of the transport/logistics industry, you will support our Transportteam to ensure efficient management of our inbound and outbound freight.

Skills and expertise youcan offer us:
  • Experiencein a similar role and/or knowledge of the transport and logisticsindustry.
  • Experiencein using ICOS and/or other TMS systems.
  • A keenwillingness to learn and ability to absorb information.
  • Excellentgeographical knowledge and understanding of New Zealand.
  • Consistent,high quality, customer focused approach in all interactions.
  • Strongattention to detail with excellent written and numeracy skills.Strongwritten and verbal communications skills.
  • Aboveaverage accuracy and numeracy skills.
  • Intermediateto advanced Microsoft Office skills specifically in Excel and Outlook.
  • Highlycompetent in navigating and maintaining information in digital systems.
  • Consistenthigh quality, customer focused approach in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dailynetworking/planning with our Drivers, Management, Staff in other Branchesand Customers.
  • Completeand work to agreed company processes.
  • Completeoutturns for inbound units.
  • Createthe manifests for all outbound units. Email manifests to receivingBranch’s.
  • Senddelay notifications of units or freight to receiving branch’s and to CS.
