Job summary

Health New Zealand is seeking a Transport and Travel Coordinator based across Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals. This 0.4 FTE role focuses on coordinating staff transport, fleet maintenance and travel arrangements with careful record-keeping.

The role requires strong organisational and communication skills, a customer-service approach and the ability to work across teams to support staff efficiency and care delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the day-to-day transport and vehicle requirements for staff across Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals.
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for staff and, when required, patients and accompanying staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and administer fleet-related documentation.
  • Support stock and vehicle upkeep through careful administration and attention to detail.

Job description

Based at Whakatane Hospital Permanent position, 0.4 FTE 32 hours per fortnight Subsidised onsite hospital gym memberships + Staff carparking + Discounted Goods

About the role

Working across Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals, you will coordinate the day to day transport and vehicle requirements for staff, ensuring our fleet is well maintained, available when needed and supported by accurate records and administration. You will also coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for staff and, when required, patients and accompanying staff. This is a varied role where attention to detail, good organisation and the ability to work with a range of people will be key. This is a varied role where you will make a real difference by helping ensure our staff have the transport and travel support they need across Tauranga and Whakatāne.

  • Has experience working in the health sector

  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Has good financial and record keeping skills, including invoice coding and reconciliation

Previous experience coordinating vehicles, travel, accommodation or similar services would be an advantage, but we are also interested in hearing from someone with strong administration and coordination skills who is keen to learn.
