Job summary

The Ministry for Cities, Environment, Regions and Transport (MCERT) is seeking an experienced Transformation Lead to join the People, Readiness and Change function on a fixed-term/secondment basis through 30 June 2028. The role focuses on strategic change planning, readiness, and adoption across a complex reform programme in Wellington.

You will identify change impacts, develop readiness and capability plans, and coordinate engagement with specialist teams to ensure timely, practical change

Qualifications

• Experience leading change in complex transformation, reform or programme environments.
• Proven ability to translate change impacts into actionable activities and plans.
• Strong collaboration across disciplines, agencies and stakeholders.
• Ability to balance delivery pressure with change readiness and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver end-to-end change management from analysis to adoption within a large programme.
• Identify change impacts and translate into planned activity for affected groups.
• Develop and implement people readiness and capability building.
• Drive stakeholder engagement and communications across teams and functions.
• Identify risks, dependencies and mitigation steps; support evidence-based adjustments.
