Job summary

Higgins is seeking a permanent, full-time Traffic Management Operative to join our Mount Maunganui team. You will work alongside the STMS and the wider site crew to set up temporary traffic management and guide road users.

Your duties include setting up and removing traffic management equipment, carrying out stop/go operations, reading traffic management plans, completing pre-start checks, reporting hazards, and maintaining tools and vehicles in safe working condition.

Qualifications

• Has a current Class 1 driver licence and Level 1 Basic TMO qualification.
• Construct Safe Tier 1 and a Site Safe Civil Passport.
• Knowledge of safe working practices on roadworks or construction sites.
• TMO or roading experience is useful; training can be provided.
• Clear communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, practical and willing to assist with traffic control and site duties.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and remove temporary traffic management equipment.
• Carry out stop/go operations, pilot vehicle driving and TMO duties.
• Read traffic management plans and confirm the day’s work with the STMS.
• Complete pre-start checks and keep vehicles, tools and equipment in safe condition.
• Complete site documentation and report hazards, issues or equipment concerns.
• Communicate clearly with crew, clients and the public.
