Job summary

Higgins in Rotorua is hiring a permanent, full-time Traffic Management Operative to join our team. You will set up and maintain temporary traffic management equipment, perform stop/go operations, and read traffic management plans with the STMS to confirm daily tasks.

The role requires a current Class 1 driver licence and Level 1 TMO, plus Construct Safe Tier 1 and Site Safe Civil Passport. TMO or roading experience is useful; strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Class 1 driver licence
• Level 1 Basic TMO qualification
• Construct Safe Tier 1
• Site Safe Civil Passport
• Knowledge of safe working practices on roadwork or construction sites
• TMO or roading experience is useful
• Clear communication skills
• Reliable and practical

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and remove temporary traffic management equipment
• Carry out stop/go operations and pilot vehicle duties
• Read traffic management plans and confirm daily work with the STMS
• Complete pre-start checks and keep vehicles, tools and equipment in safe condition
• Complete site documentation and report hazards, issues or equipment concerns
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with your crew, clients and the public
