Job summary

Higgins is seeking a permanent, full-time STMS to join its Traffic Management team in Rotorua. This hands-on leadership role oversees temporary traffic management across live road environments, leads TTM crews, and ensures sites operate safely and compliantly for workers and the public.

Key responsibilities include supervising site setups, leading crews, implementing Traffic Management Plans, and maintaining site records.

Qualifications

• NZTA TTM Worker certification and relevant traffic control training.
• Current Class 2 Driver Licence.
• At least 2 years' experience in roading or traffic management environments.
• Strong understanding of safe work practices, TTM requirements and site compliance.
• Clear communication skills and confidence interacting with the public.
• Availability to participate in an on-call roster.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the setup, adjustment and removal of temporary traffic management sites.
• Lead TTM crews and provide clear site briefings and instructions.
• Review and implement approved Traffic Management Plans.
• Monitor changing traffic conditions, hazards and site risks.
• Complete site records, inspections, audits and corrective actions.
• Work with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the public to resolve onsite issues.
