Job summary

Tapi is a high-growth SaaS company transforming property maintenance with software that helps trade businesses quote, schedule, communicate, and get paid. You will own Tapi’s trade network in New Zealand, driving sign-ons, onboarding, and ongoing usage while expanding into new markets.

Base salary plus uncapped commission is offered. The role is Wellington-based with travel to opening territories, reporting to the Head of Operations.

Tapi is a high-growth SaaS company revolutionising property maintenance with innovative software solutions. With a strong presence in New Zealand and Australia, we help property managers streamline their operations through seamless automation and smart integrations.

Tradies get a rough deal out of property maintenance. They chase the quote. They chase access. Then they chase the money — and do the invoicing at the kitchen table after dinner.

Tapi helps trade businesses run maintenance work without the admin grind. We’re building software that makes it simpler to quote, schedule, communicate, invoice and get paid — and we’re on a mission to improve the property maintenance experience for everyone.

The job

You own Tapi’s trade network in New Zealand — who’s on it, how well they use it, and how fast it grows.

We build market by market: bring great trade businesses onto Tapi across every category in a city, help them see real value quickly, get the network humming, then go again somewhere new. You’ll be on the ground in each one.

• Sign the growing ones. Our sweet spot is the trade business with a few vans, where the owner’s still quoting at nine at night and wondering whether it’s time to hire someone for the office. Tapi is the alternative to that hire.
• Win the big ones. You’ll open doors, earn the meeting and show larger operators why Tapi is worth changing how they work for.
• Get them using Tapi. A signature is only the start. You’ll make sure new trades get set up, get value early, and keep using Tapi when the novelty wears off. You’re their person: the number they call when something’s not right.
• Write the playbook, so every market is quicker than the last.

You’ll be measured on market coverage — the share of trade categories with enough active trades using Tapi — plus how many of your trades are still active at 90 days, how fast they say yes, and the quality of the network you build.

What you’ll bring

You’ve sold to tradies, and you were good at it. Hardware, building supplies, repping a brand, telco, fuel cards, equipment hire, software — the industry matters less than the buyer. You’ve sat across from an owner-operator and got a yes. And you found them yourself. Nobody handed you a list.

Straight up: this isn’t a job about knowing everyone. Beers or coffees help. Being liked helps. Neither is the job. The job is getting the right trades onto Tapi and helping them make it part of how they work.

You’ll run your own pipeline without being asked twice, hold a straight conversation about money without folding when someone pushes, and still be going hard in month nine when the easy yeses are gone. Been on the tools yourself? Useful. Not required, and no substitute for closing.

Base salary plus uncapped commission. Wellington-based, travelling to whichever territory we’re opening. Reporting to our Head of Operations. First in the seat, so you’ll build the function as well as run it.
