Job summary

The Green Spot Limited is seeking a Tour Consultant in Christchurch to craft innovative itineraries with precise pricing and rapid turnaround. You’ll build strong relationships with client accounts, deliver excellent service, and convert quotes into bookings for travellers from around the world.

Based in Christchurch, you will work with offshore agents and New Zealand suppliers, ensuring seamless bookings and a memorable in-country experience.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in an inbound tour operator is preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of New Zealand tourism product is required.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is expected.

Responsibilities

• Craft innovative itineraries with accurate pricing for FITs, with fast turnaround times.
• Build lasting relationships with offshore agent clients and NZ suppliers.
• Process bookings, amendments and cancellations daily, with same-day responses where possible.
• Enter all bookings into the tour software with correct status and margins.
• Deliver standout customer service from first quote through to in-country experience.
• Address customer service issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with team to gather info and resolve agent requests.
• Engage with customer feedback and propose suitable resolutions.
• Approach customers with a high level of care and empathy.

We work with independent travellers from the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and North America — crafting personalised Aotearoa experiences that go well beyond the guidebook.

You’ll become a genuine expert on New Zealand tourism product, work alongside an experienced and supportive team, and build real relationships with clients and operators right across the country. No two days are the same.

About the role

As a Tour Consultant, your prime purpose is to provide innovative itinerary concepts with precise pricing and fast turnaround times. You’ll build strong, lasting relationships with client accounts, deliver exceptional customer service, and drive the successful conversion of quotes into bookings, as well as supporting clients when they are on their New Zealand holiday.

Key responsibilities

• Craft innovative itineraries with accurate pricing for independent travellers (FITs), with efficient turnaround times
• Build lasting relationships with offshore agent clients and New Zealand-based suppliers
• Process bookings, amendments and cancellations daily, ensuring same-day responses where possible
• Accurately enter all bookings into our tour software, ensuring correct status and margins
• Deliver standout customer service from first quote through to in-country experience
• Address customer service issues promptly to maintain client satisfaction
• Collaborate with team members to gather information and solve problems for agent requests
• Actively engage with customer feedback and propose suitable resolutions
• Approach customers with a high level of care and empathy

What we’re looking for

The most important things:

• Dutch or German Language Skills - both verbal and written are an advantage but not essential
• A genuine passion for New Zealand and enthusiasm for sharing it with visitors from around the world

Also required:

• Excellent knowledge of New Zealand tourism product
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• 2 years’ experience working for an inbound tour operator is preferred — but for the right person we are very open to discussing your background
