Job summary

Price Holyoake–East Tamaki, North Island is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform mechanical maintenance, machining and tooling work in a production environment. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns and manufacture or repair custom components, tooling, jigs and fixtures.

The role requires competencies in manual machining, welding, fabrication, and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Competent in manual machining including lathes, mills, grinders and drill presses.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, fitting and assembly work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and mechanical fault finding.
• Respond promptly to production breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Manufacture, repair and modify tooling, jigs, fixtures and any custom engineering project.
• Operate manual machines, tools and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform fitting, assembly, welding and general fabrication work.
• Measure, assess and repair worn components.
• Read and work from engineering drawings to manufacture and install components.
• Assist the senior toolmaker where needed.
• Support tooling, installation, shutdown and engineering improvement projects.
