Job summary

McKay Limited in Tokoroa, Waikato, seeks a Mechanical Technician Maintenance (Day Worker) to perform routine and corrective machinery maintenance at the OJI Kinleith Site.

You will monitor equipment condition, report findings, and work to improve asset data quality in SAP while recommending PM and SOP document improvements. Permanent full-time role with day shift and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• NZ Cert Mechanical Engineering Trade / Level 4 or equivalent.
• Apprenticed in Mechanical or Allied trade with extensive industry experience.
• 3+ years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective machinery maintenance.
• Monitor machinery condition and report findings.
• Improve asset data quality in SAP and suggest PM/SOP updates.
• Overtime as required beyond contracted hours.

About the role:

We are searching for an experienced Mechanical Technician Maintenance (Day Worker) to join our McKay Team based in the OJI Kinleith Site in Tokoroa. The purpose of this position is to participate in machinery maintenance (Routine and Corrective), machinery condition monitoring and reporting, to best practice standards. To improve overall equipment efficiency and ensure machinery maintenance activities are carried out to directed specifications and standards. Improve asset data quality (SAP) and PM and SOP document improvement recommendations

To be considered you will need to hold the following: -

• NZ Cert Mechanical Engineering Trade / Level 4, Maintenance Engineering or, Fitting and Machining strand. Or equivalent.

OR

• Apprenticed in Mechanical or Allied trade, unqualified. Extensive Relevant Industry and machinery experience. Or equivalent.

In addition, we are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

• 3 years + experience in an industrial manufacturing environment


• Familiarity and understanding of digital alignment tools, diagnostic and configuration devices and systems is desirable.


• Can perform alignment including complex alignment on rotating equipment, in a range of equipment configurations.


• Strong computer (MS Office applications), written and verbal communication skills


• A solution-focused attitude

These are permanent full-time positions. Any additional hours worked over above your contracted hours, will be paid at overtime rates.
