Job summary

McKay Limited on the OJI Kinleith Site in Tokoroa seeks a Mechanical Technician Maintenance (Day Worker) to perform routine and corrective machinery maintenance and monitor equipment condition. You will report findings and support best practice standards on site.

The role emphasizes improving asset data quality in SAP and contributing to PM and SOP document improvements, with permanent, full-time employment and overtime paid for hours beyond contracted time.

Qualifications

• NZ Cert Mechanical Engineering Trade / Level 4 or equivalent.
• Or apprenticeship in Mechanical trade with extensive relevant industry experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Ability to perform complex alignment on rotating equipment across configurations.
• Strong computer skills and written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Participate in routine and corrective machinery maintenance.

Mechanical Technician Maintenance (Day Worker)

We are searching for an experienced Mechanical Technician Maintenance (Day Worker) to join our McKay Team based in the OJI Kinleith Site in Tokoroa. The purpose of this position is to participate in machinery maintenance (Routine and Corrective), machinery condition monitoring and reporting, to best practice standards. To improve overall equipment efficiency and ensure machinery maintenance activities are carried out to directed specifications and standards. Improve asset data quality (SAP) and PM and SOP document improvement recommendations

To be considered you will need to hold the following:

• NZ Cert Mechanical Engineering Trade / Level 4, Maintenance Engineering or, Fitting and Machining strand. Or equivalent.

OR

• Apprenticed in Mechanical or Allied trade, unqualified. Extensive Relevant Industry and machinery experience. Or equivalent.

In addition, we are looking for candidates with the following attributes:

• 3 years + experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Familiarity and understanding of digital alignment tools, diagnostic and configuration devices and systems is desirable.
• Can perform alignment including complex alignment on rotating equipment, in a range of equipment configurations.
• Strong computer (MS Office applications), written and verbal communication skills
• A solution-focused attitude

These are permanent full-time positions. Any additional hours worked over above your contracted hours, will be paid at overtime rates.
