Job summary

Remarkable People is assisting a client in Hamilton, New Zealand, to recruit a Maintenance Engineer / Fitter for a full-time, ongoing temporary role with an immediate start. You will maintain a highly automated production line, requiring strong mechanical, electrical, welding and troubleshooting skills to maximise plant uptime.

Applicants should have 5+ years of maintenance experience, NZ Level 4 Mechanical Engineering/Fitting qualification, MIG/TIG welding, and be able to work independently and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance experience in continuous manufacturing.
• NZ Level 4 Mechanical Engineering/Fitting qualification or equivalent.
• MIG/TIG welding experience – essential.
• Experience with automated/PLC-controlled machinery.
• Lean, TPM or Kaizen experience is a bonus.
• Forklift, EWP, EST or additional technical certifications are advantageous.
• Able to work independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing breakdowns quickly and performing root cause analysis
• Maintaining cylinders, valves, air systems and hydraulic equipment
• Maintaining belt conveyors, roller conveyors, transfer tables and drive systems
• Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), confined space awareness and working safely around automated equipment
• Managing planned maintenance systems (CMMS), lubrication schedules and condition monitoring
