Christchurch City Mission is seeking a Weekend Night Shift Support Worker to help keep residents safe and supported overnight. You’ll work 20 hours weekly across Wednesday evening and Friday and Saturday nights, bringing calm and practical help to people facing challenges in a respectful, inclusive environment.

20 hours per week: Wednesday 5pm-9pm, Friday & Saturday 11pm-7.00am (overnight awake shifts)
As our Weekend Night Shift Support Worker, you’ll help ensure residents feel safe, supported and respected overnight. This is an awake shift role where your calm presence, good judgement and practical support will make a genuine difference.
You’ll be involved in resident checks, light housekeeping, administration, medication oversight and clear record keeping. There may also be opportunities to pick up additional casual shifts during the week.
You’ll receive training and ongoing professional development, and you’ll be part of a team that cares about the people we support and the people we work alongside.
You’ll be someone who is compassionate, dependable and able to stay calm under pressure. You’ll enjoy working with people, be confident using your initiative and be comfortable working overnight awake shifts.
