Job summary

The New Zealand Government is seeking Programme Facilitators to work with people in our care in prisons and in the community, delivering therapeutic programmes designed to address offending and promote crime-free futures.

You will use active listening, build relationships, and apply kaupapa Māori practices, with flexibility to adapt to individual and group sessions. A background in teaching, social work or counselling is valued.

Qualifications

• Active listening and motivational engagement with participants.
• Cultural understanding including tikanga Māori framework.
• Experience delivering therapeutic interventions, individually or in group settings.
• Receptive to feedback and reflective practice to improve delivery.
• Strong report-writing skills and clear, accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinically designed therapeutic programmes to participants, individually or with a co-facilitator.
• Work with people in our care in prisons and in the community to address causes of offending.
• Motivate and support participants to create crime-free futures.
• Reflect on practice and contribute to continuous improvement.
