BW COMS LTD is seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician in New Zealand to install, maintain, test and repair telecom equipment across residential, commercial and network sites. You will work with fibre optic and copper cabling, perform fault diagnosis, and ensure services are installed and operating safely and to standard.
A NZ driver's license and Level 3 Telecommunications certificate are required.

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Technician to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair telecommunications equipment, fibre optic and copper cabling, and data transmission systems across residential, commercial and network sites. The successful applicant will be responsible for installing and maintaining telecommunications infrastructure, including fibre optic and copper systems, carrying out testing and fault diagnosis, completing repairs and maintenance, and ensuring telecommunications services and equipment are installed and operating correctly and safely.
Installing, maintaining, testing and repairing telecommunications equipment and data transmission systems.
Installing, terminating, connecting and testing fibre optic and copper telecommunications cabling.
Carrying out fibre optic installation, termination, jointing and testing where required.
Performing fibre optic testing using appropriate equipment, including optical power meters, light sources and OTDR equipment.
Identifying and diagnosing faults in fibre optic cabling, copper cabling, telecommunications equipment and associated systems.
Carrying out copper cable termination, connection, testing and fault finding.
Installing and connecting telecommunications equipment, network equipment, cabinets, outlets, patch panels and associated infrastructure.
Reading and interpreting telecommunications plans, drawings, specifications and work instructions.
Configuring telecommunications equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and network requirements.
Testing completed fibre, copper and telecommunications installations to ensure they meet required technical and operational standards.
Practical knowledge and experience with fibre optic and copper telecommunications systems.
Ability to install, terminate, test and troubleshoot fibre optic and copper cabling.
Ability to use telecommunications testing and diagnostic equipment.
Knowledge of fibre optic testing and fault-finding techniques.
Knowledge of copper cable testing and fault-finding techniques.
Ability to read and understand telecommunications plans, technical drawings and specifications.
Ability to diagnose and resolve telecommunications faults.
Good practical problem-solving skills.
A current full New Zealand driver's licence.
New Zealand Certificate in Telecommunications (Level 3).
